Project P.I.T.T. Launches on Steam With Physics-Based Automation and Sandbox Chaos

Date:

Project P.I.T.T., a physics-driven incremental sandbox game built around automation, experimentation and increasingly chaotic production lines, has officially launched on Steam. Developed by French solo creator Froke and published by Poland-based Pretty Soon, the game combines first-person sandbox mechanics with a distinctive brutalist, PSX-inspired corporate setting.

Released on August 19, 2026, Project P.I.T.T. is priced at $9.99 on Steam, with a 15% launch discount available for two weeks. The game arrives after building significant pre-release interest, including more than 115,000 Steam wishlists.

Project P.I.T.T. Turns Rubber Ducks Into an Automation Challenge

The premise begins with an intentionally unusual workplace assignment: manufacture rubber ducks, generate money and feed the products into a mysterious bottomless pit known as the Maw.

Players construct physics-based production lines designed to meet corporate targets and increase profits. As the operation expands, additional products, upgrades and tools become available, allowing increasingly complex machines to be assembled.

The game’s systems encourage experimentation rather than prescribing a single production strategy. Players can create carefully optimized assembly lines or deliberately absurd contraptions, with the physics simulation influencing how objects move through each setup.

Tools Allow Players to Build Increasingly Complex Machines

A selection of equipment can be incorporated into production systems, including magnets, fans, panels, pistons and launchers. These components can be combined to move products through the facility and improve overall throughput.

Players can also chain together combos to increase payouts, creating an incremental progression loop in which stronger production leads to additional tools and new opportunities for automation.

As profits increase, the scale of the operation grows with them. The Maw becomes larger and increasingly demanding as players continue feeding products into the corporate void.

Corporate Mystery Develops Alongside the Sandbox Gameplay

Although Project P.I.T.T. initially presents itself as an unconventional automation game, its setting introduces questions about the corporation behind the player’s assignment.

The player’s role begins as an internship, but the increasingly strange environment raises questions about where the facility is located, who operates it and why the endless production process exists.

That mystery is presented through a brutalist corporate facility characterized by concrete architecture, harsh lighting, workplace safety posters and intentionally questionable industrial decisions.

The visual direction draws from the low-poly aesthetics associated with the original PlayStation era, giving the game a retro appearance while maintaining modern physics-driven sandbox mechanics.

Content Creators Help Drive Pre-Launch Attention

According to the publisher, Project P.I.T.T. surpassed 115,000 wishlists ahead of its launch and generated millions of views across YouTube, Twitch and TikTok.

Content creators have also produced multi-episode series centered on the game, reflecting the replayable nature of its physics systems and the variety of production lines players can design.

The combination of unpredictable object interactions, automation and experimentation makes individual play sessions capable of producing different results depending on how each machine is constructed.

Project P.I.T.T. Features at Launch

Key gameplay features include physics-based production lines that transport products into the Maw, beginning with rubber ducks before expanding to increasingly unusual items.

Players can unlock new automation systems and equipment as they progress, while magnets, fans, pistons, launchers and other tools provide different ways to improve production. Combo mechanics reward efficient throughput with higher payouts, while continued expansion causes the Maw itself to grow.

The corporate facility serves as more than a backdrop, combining retro PSX-inspired visuals with satirical workplace themes and first-person sandbox gameplay.

Solo Developer Froke Makes Commercial Debut

Project P.I.T.T. is the first commercial game from Froke, a French solo developer whose creative background includes audio fiction, photography, video, 3D imagery and animation.

With university experience in software development and programming, Froke combined those technical and creative disciplines in developing the game.

Publisher Pretty Soon, based in Poland, focuses on games from solo developers and small independent teams. Its portfolio includes Backpack Hero, Havendock, Small Spaces, Primal Planet, Scale the Depths and Project P.I.T.T.

With its Steam release now underway, Project P.I.T.T. enters the PC indie market with a deliberately unconventional mix of physics simulation, incremental progression, automation and corporate satire—all centered on the seemingly simple task of producing increasingly ridiculous quantities of rubber ducks.
