Retro Fighters has launched its new Battle Dock for Nintendo Switch 2 across Europe, giving players a way to connect up to four GameCube-compatible controllers to Nintendo’s latest console. Distributed by Sweden-based Game Outlet Europe, the accessory combines wired controller support with a design inspired by Nintendo’s classic GameCube hardware.
Battle Dock Adds Four GameCube Controller Ports to Switch 2
The Retro Fighters Battle Dock is designed for players who want to use GameCube-style controllers with Nintendo Switch 2, particularly for local multiplayer and fighting games.
Users slide the Switch 2 console into the accessory and connect controllers through four front-facing GameCube controller ports. The Battle Dock connects directly to the console through USB-C, eliminating the need to pair supported wired controllers wirelessly.
Retro Fighters says the wired connections are designed for ultra-low-latency input, an important consideration for competitive games where timing can affect gameplay.
The setup could be particularly useful for games such as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which has maintained a strong following among players who prefer the traditional GameCube controller layout.
GameCube-Inspired Design Offers Customization
Beyond controller connectivity, the Battle Dock draws heavily from the appearance of Nintendo’s GameCube.
Four Magnetic Faceplates Included
Each Battle Dock Adapter comes with four interchangeable magnetic faceplates based on familiar GameCube-era colors: Spice Orange, Indigo, Jet Black and Platinum Silver.
Players can swap the faceplates without changing the core hardware, allowing the accessory’s appearance to be customized.
Two additional USB-C ports are located on the rear of the Battle Dock, expanding the available connectivity while the Switch 2 is installed.
The accessory is designed to provide those additional connections without compromising the console’s normal operation.
WaveBird and BattlerGC Controllers Are Supported
The Battle Dock is not limited to conventional wired GameCube controllers.
Retro Fighters says the accessory also supports Nintendo’s WaveBird wireless controller, allowing owners of the classic wireless GameCube gamepad to use its receiver with the system.
The company’s BattlerGC wireless controllers are supported as well.
That compatibility gives players several options for building a four-player setup, ranging from original wired GameCube controllers to wireless alternatives.
Designed With Local Multiplayer in Mind
The four-port configuration places local multiplayer at the center of the Battle Dock’s design.
While modern consoles increasingly rely on Bluetooth and other wireless connections, the accessory uses the familiar GameCube controller interface for players who already own compatible hardware.
The direct wired connection also removes the need to individually pair multiple controllers before a multiplayer session.

The Battle Dock began shipping across Europe on September 17, 2026.
It is currently available through Amazon in the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy, with availability in Spain and France expected to follow. Other retailers are also expected to carry the accessory.
The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is €39.99 in Europe and £34.99 in the United Kingdom.
