The details of this contract extension were obviously never made public, but it’s easy to imagine that Major League Baseball had agreed to continue its journey with PlayStation, but on the condition that the game be released for more platforms, in order to reach a wider audience. as do sports games EA and 2K. Quite spectacular consequence, MLB The Show 21 was just announced on PS5 and PS4, but also Xbox Series and Xbox One for a release a little later than usual, on April 20, 2021. Better, not only will Xbox players receive same-day services, but both communities will be able to play. online together thanks to cross-play, a feature that FIFA and others NBA 2K I still do not offer.
The game will sell for € 69.99 on PS4 and Xbox One, but for € 79.99 on PS5 and Xbox Series, knowing that no upgrade program will be offered in the standard edition. Therefore, this privilege will be reserved for the collector’s edition that will be released on Wednesday, February 3. On the cover of the game, Fernando Tatís Jr, of course, but also a PlayStation Studios logo that will be proudly displayed on the cover of Xbox, thus leaving his small mark on history. A story that would have been even crazier if the game had been announced on Switch as well, knowing that Nintedo had retweeted the MLB ad in the same way as Xbox. Maybe the next time.
