The specialist in external storage solutions LaCie, a Seagate company, has introduced updated versions of its Mobile Drive and Mobile Drive Secure product lines. Portable hard drives have received a new design from Neil Poulton, longtime LaCie home and garden designer.

The casings are made from recycled aluminum and plastic. The packaging is also made from recycled material. Portable hard drives are available in 1, 2, 4, and 5TB storage capacities and can be used on Macs, iPads, and PCs via USB-C without additional setup. A one-month membership to the Adobe Creative Cloud All Apps plan and LaCie Toolkit software are included. This allows for on-demand and time-controlled backups. LaCie offers a three-year limited warranty and three-year rescue recovery services for data recovery.

the LaCie Secure Mobile Drive differs from the LaCie Mobile Drive with additional data protection in the form of hardware encryption, including a lock and unlock feature with LaCie Toolkit software. Both variants use USB 3.2 Gen 1 USB-C for the connection.

With USB-C DuoDock, LMP combines external connection options and memory expansion. The silver aluminum case can be attached directly to the base of the iMac 24″ M1 (2021) with a magnetic clip. Alternatively, it can be used as a stand-alone device on any other Mac with a USB-C port.

The Swiss manufacturer, specialized in Apple accessories, has equipped the dock with three USB-A ports, one each USB-C, one HDMI 2.0 and one Gigabit Ethernet, as well as an SD and microSD card reader. For example, a keyboard, mouse, printer, and 4K 60Hz monitor can be connected, SD and micro SD storage media can be read, and data can be transferred at speeds of up to 1000MB. At the same time, the host can receive up to 100W of power through the USB-C port via Power Delivery 3.0.

As a special feature, the base contains a slot for an M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD. Four formats are supported: SSD 2230 (22 x 30 mm), 2242 (22 x 42 mm), 2260 (22 x 60 mm), or 2280 (22 x 80 mm).

Logitech has new versions of its G502 gaming mouse presented. According to the manufacturer, the improved design of the G502 X offers for the first time LIGHTFORCE opto-mechanical switches, which set new standards in terms of speed and precision.

The G502 X PLUS model features LIGHTSYNC RGB with the following features: 8-zone LED lighting with smooth transitions that can be individually adjusted to user preferences, on/off effects, and power saving modes via active sensing of games.
