Tempest Rising will expand its alternate-history real-time strategy battlefield on Sept. 29 with the launch of The Veti’s Wrath, a new Steam expansion introducing an 11-mission single-player campaign centered on the game’s long-awaited third faction.
The expansion comes from Saber Interactive’s 3D Realms publishing label, Knights Peak and developer Slipgate Ironworks. Alongside the paid DLC, a free update will make the Veti playable in multiplayer, skirmish and custom games for all Tempest Rising owners.
The Veti Take Center Stage in New 11-Mission Campaign
The Veti’s Wrath shifts the story to the perspective of the Veti, the technologically advanced faction introduced as a mysterious force during the game’s previous campaigns.
The new single-player storyline follows the Veti as they attempt to reclaim a world they once ruled from humanity.
Their gameplay is built around a distinct military system in which fallen enemies can be subjugated and sacrificed to provide resources for the faction’s armies and armories. The approach gives the Veti their own strategic identity alongside the factions already available in Tempest Rising.
The expansion’s 11 missions will continue the broader narrative while giving players direct control of the Veti for the first time in a full campaign.
Veti Multiplayer Access Will Be Free for All Owners
While the campaign will be sold as downloadable content, players will not need to purchase The Veti’s Wrath to use the faction in competitive or customizable battles.
A free update scheduled for Sept. 29 will unlock the complete Veti faction for multiplayer, skirmish mode and custom games for everyone who owns the base game.
