The Grinch 2: Saving Christmas is now available on consoles and PC, bringing Dr. Seuss’ famous holiday character back to video games in a new 3D platforming adventure designed for solo and family play.
Published by Outright Games in partnership with Dr. Seuss Enterprises, the game follows the Grinch and his dog Max as they travel across Who-ville and surrounding locations in preparation for the community’s annual Christmas tree contest.
The Grinch and Max Return for a New Holiday Adventure
The story centers on the Grinch’s effort to decorate Who-ville’s ultimate Christmas tree. With Christmas approaching, players search for ornaments and decorations while navigating platforming challenges and dealing with enemies and environmental obstacles.
The launch trailer is narrated by Cindy-Lou Who and introduces several gadgets available during the adventure.
Players can use Rocket Skates to gain extra speed, a Jetpack to travel over hazards and a Snowball Maker to freeze enemies that interfere with the Grinch’s journey.
The game includes 23 levels spread across four locations familiar to fans of the franchise: Who-ville, Mt. Crumpit, Who Wood and the Grinch’s Cave.
Local Co-Op Lets a Second Player Control Max
The Grinch 2: Saving Christmas can be played as a single-player adventure or through local cooperative multiplayer.
In co-op, a second player assumes control of Max. The two characters have different abilities that can be combined to navigate levels, overcome obstacles and uncover hidden areas.
The developers have positioned the game as an accessible experience for a broad range of ages, with gameplay built around exploration, platforming and Christmas-themed objectives.

The Grinch first appeared in Dr. Seuss’ 1957 children’s book How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, which introduced the character as a Christmas-hating recluse living above Who-ville.
Over subsequent decades, the story has been adapted across television, movies and the stage, establishing the Grinch as one of the most recognizable characters associated with the Christmas season in the United States.
The Grinch 2: Saving Christmas extends the property into another interactive adventure, with its environments and characters drawing from the wider Dr. Seuss universe.
Casual Brothers Developed the 3D Platformer
The game was developed by Casual Brothers, a UK-based game development studio founded in 2010. The team has worked on projects across PC, console and mobile platforms.
Outright Games, founded in 2016, specializes in family-oriented games based on established entertainment properties. Its previous releases have included games tied to Peppa Pig, DC’s Justice League, Star Trek: Prodigy, PAW Patrol and DreamWorks’ Dragons.
Dr. Seuss Enterprises manages and develops entertainment based on the literary and artistic works of Dr. Seuss. The organization says its profits support charitable causes including education, science, health, animal conservation and the arts.
The Grinch 2 Arrives Across Major Gaming Platforms
The Grinch 2: Saving Christmas is available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
The multiplatform launch gives families several ways to access the new adventure ahead of the holiday season, while local cooperative play provides an option for two players to experience the story together.
