Tips for participants

For all those who decide to try their luck in this competition, it is useful to use the advice shared by Urtė Eidžiūnaitė, Huawei’s Product Training Manager in Lithuania.

“Before thinking about what, when and where to take photos, it is important to know all the functions, settings and capture functions of your phone. As smartphone camera technology continues to evolve, there may be features you didn’t know about before. For example, an ultra wide angle lens or a night mode that allows you to capture the perfect moment even at night. Also, some homework needs to be done before taking a photo or filming. The creator must think in advance how the idea created in the mind should make sense in the photo. Choosing a theme and planning a composition – all this must be done in advance. And most importantly, keep in mind that choosing a subject can take a long time before all conditions allow for the best possible shot. For example, the proper position of the sun or moon, lighting, and favorable weather conditions may cause you to wait more than an hour. But an exceptional shot is definitely worth trying, ”recommends U. Eidžiūnaitė.

However, U. Eidžiūnaitė adds that even those who follow all the advice must understand that the formula for creative success always remains individual: “When photographing, you must first try to tell an interesting and engaging story. Even the greatest theoretical preparation cannot guarantee success. Therefore, the key to success is the expression of individual emotions and experiences. ”
