According to police, a 29-year-old man was arrested after stabbing a 66-year-old mother and a 71-year-old stepfather.

Why did he attack them?

The couple reportedly asked their son Christopher McKinney to quit video games in the bedroom of Madison Heights’ apartment on Friday. WDIV-TV (Channel 4)..

The dispute continued.

According to Madison Heights Police Chief Corey Haynes, the son hit his mother’s face and his stepfather. The stepfather then got a knife from the kitchen to protect himself, but the son removed it.

Then Haynes said WDIV, The son stabbed his mother and stepfather.

A neighbor said he found McKinney in the hallway, the television station reported.

Police then arrived at the bloody scene and explained what had happened to the two victims. Police said McKinney had attacked a fire lieutenant who was also trying to provide first aid.

The stepfather died four days after the incident.

Police said WDIV McKinney had a criminal record, including a later withdrawn alleged assault.
