Given the limited supply of new Playstation 5 And Xbox series X And S-video game consoles are sold out quickly every time a retailer gets a new inventory. Wal-Mart announces plans On Tuesday, make sure that the inventory is in the hands of the actual customer, not the bot.

Walmart states that he has built and optimized bot detection tools to bring most of the available consoles into the hands of legitimate consumers. According to the announcement, bots can order multiple units within the time it takes to order one unit. Walmart’s software attempts to stop these automated programs and cancels orders from bots that have slipped through the first layer of detection.

Jerry Geisler, Wal-Mart’s Chief Information Security Officer, said:

The plan will be tested shortly as the retail giant has set up its sale Thursday noon PT (3 pm ET) console next batch..

update: Anecdotal evidence suggests that during this latest sale, bots still have difficulty getting consumers to get a console, and the PS5 sold out in seconds. We asked Wal-Mart for comment.
