Developer Drecom Co., Ltd. has launched a limited-time collaboration between Wizardry Variants Daphne and FINAL FANTASY XI, introducing iconic characters, exclusive quests, new equipment, and special in-game rewards for players across Steam and mobile platforms.
FINAL FANTASY XI Crossover Brings New Story and Dungeon
Drecom, the Tokyo-based developer behind Wizardry Variants Daphne, has officially launched the Fantasy Castle of Deepest Dark collaboration event with FINAL FANTASY XI.
The limited-time event began on July 30, 2026 (JST) and runs through September 10, 2026, giving players several weeks to explore exclusive content inspired by Square Enix’s classic MMORPG, which has maintained an active global community for more than two decades.
At the center of the crossover is a brand-new collaboration quest featuring an original storyline, a themed dungeon, and appearances by well-known characters from FINAL FANTASY XI.
Exclusive Storyline Expands the Wizardry Universe
The event begins after a mysterious castle suddenly appears in Northern Hollow before disappearing just as quickly. Local nobles investigating the strange structure fail to return, prompting players to uncover what happened and rescue the missing explorers while navigating the supernatural fortress.
The collaboration introduces a standalone adventure while remaining connected to the core gameplay of Wizardry Variants Daphne.
Three Iconic FINAL FANTASY XI Heroes Join the Roster
Players can recruit three crossover adventurers from FINAL FANTASY XI, each featuring unique abilities, voice performances, and exclusive bonus equipment.
Prishe
Known as the Abhorrent One of Tavnazia, Prishe joins the game with Japanese voice actor Aya Hirano. Players obtaining the special recruitment scroll with bonus rewards can receive one random exclusive item, including:
- Godhands
- Prishe’s Tiara
- Prishe’s Boots
Each item grants unique combat-related traits that enhance character performance.
Iroha
The Singer of the Rhapsodies, voiced by Inori Minase, also joins the roster with several exclusive equipment rewards available through bonus recruitment.
Possible rewards include:
- Mizukage Naginata
- Amatsu Togi
- Amatsu Tekko
These items provide specialized offensive and defensive bonuses for different character builds.
Zeid
Dark Knight Zeid, known as the Darksteel Hurricane, arrives with Japanese voice actor Shinichiro Kamio.
Players may receive one of several exclusive pieces of equipment, including:
- Abyssbringer
- Zeid’s Mask
- Zeid’s Cuirass
The featured recruitment period for all three collaboration characters runs through September 10, 2026.
Recruitment Event Offers Limited-Time Rewards
A special recruitment campaign allows players to obtain one exclusive item that can be exchanged for either one of the collaboration characters or one of six legendary adventurers available during the event.
The recruitment event becomes available after players progress through the Beginning Abyss and reach Royal Capital Luknalia, where they encounter the Man Scavenging Bones.
Only one reward may be claimed during the collaboration period.
Relic Weapons Add New Equipment Progression
Special Weapons Can Be Upgraded Throughout the Event
The crossover also introduces Relic Weapons, a new class of equipment available through the Fantasy Castle of Deepest Dark event.
Players can obtain base versions of these weapons using gil at the Jeweler’s Exchange before upgrading them into more powerful versions through reforging.
To support the upgrade system, a new Trade Broker has been added to Northern Hollow Village, allowing players to exchange required crafting materials with other adventuring parties.
Login Bonuses and Event Missions Available
Players logging in during the event can claim several complimentary rewards, including recruitment scrolls for each of the three collaboration characters.
The login campaign runs through August 26, 2026.
Additional limited-time missions reward players for completing event objectives. Participants can earn:
- Recruitment scrolls for Prishe, Iroha, and Zeid
- Up to 186,000 gil
- Additional event materials and rewards
These missions remain available until September 10, 2026.
