The police arrested a youth gang. It is said that his actions were brutal, the booty immense. The youngest member was only 14 years old.
Police in Frankfurt am Main have arrested a total of six young men and teenagers who are said to have been up to mischief in the Rhine-Main area for months: they are accused of at least twelve shoplifting electronics and mobile phone stores.
Other than that, the gang always had expensive cell phones and tablets. According to the police, the young people have made loot worth more than 180,000 euros since March.
The Frankfurt police special forces had their sights set on the gang.
On Thursday, the police reported the success. Consequently, a trap had already been closed last week.
The youth gang had been under suspicion for a long time and had been watched by special forces. In the morning hours of July 6, the gang, divided into two groups, raided two different stores. Three 16-year-olds and a 19-year-old were beaten in Ransbach-Baumbach, about 75 kilometers northwest of Frankfurt. They obtained mobile phones worth 3,500 euros in a mobile phone shop and were arrested shortly after.
41,000 euros looted with a single theft
Almost simultaneously, a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old entered Samsung’s flagship store in Frankfurt’s Zeil. There they stole expensive smartphones worth 41,000 euros.
A day later, after continuous observation, the two were arrested at the main railway station as they were about to board a train to Berlin. “This means that the gang is considered broken for us,” a police spokesman told t-online.
