This week, technology company Huawei launches its annual HDC: HUAWEI DEVELOPER CONFERENCE 2020 (Together). Developers and industry experts come together to seek the latest news and announcements from the global giants.
HDC 2020 will be giving a series of talks and keynotes over a three-day period detailing updates to its app distribution platform, AppGallery. It also announces an exciting lineup, including the latest HMS Core 5.0, HarmonyOS, and Huawei’s Android-based EMUI 11 interface. The meeting will be live streamed online.
The game session will begin at 10:45 GMT +2 on Friday, September 11th, using Huawei speakers, the open source game engine Cocos, and Flexion Mobile.
Huawei Consumer Business Group executives will speak during HDC 2020. This includes Wang Yanmin, President of Global Partnerships and Eco Development, and Wang Chenglu, President of Software Engineering.
Huawei will be showcasing new products such as the smooth Huawei Watch Fit set and Freelace Pro in-ear headphones to be launched in the West. The company will also unveil brand new products throughout the show.
AppGallery and its partners
In the first quarter of 2020, mobile game downloads and revenue increased significantly, with game downloads increasing by 21% quarterly. Player spending has also increased, rising 16% year-over-year to $ 17.5 billion.
As the mobile industry continues to grow, AppGallery has partnered with many companies and developers to make it easier to find. This year, Huawei has partnered with IGG and Lilith Games to bring Lords Mobile, Rise of Kingdoms and AFK Arena to the App Gallery.
Mobile titan Supercell is also working with AppGallery to increase brand awareness, especially in the Chinese market. Through this partnership, Supercell’s leading MOBA Brawl Stars were officially launched in China earlier this year.
Gameloft is also part of the App Gallery roster and has seen a significant increase in downloads since it partnered with Huawei. Gameloft game app downloads have increased seven-fold in the first three months of our collaboration with AppGallery.
This Friday’s HDC game session will cover the games that recently appeared in the App Gallery. Cocos VP Cynthia Du will also host a talk on how to bring games to the App Gallery. This session will also cover Flexion Mobile distribution cases.
