What can we look for more than a Thai game heading for the fourth quarter? Here, No. 1 Clemson and No. 4 Notre Dame were tied three times later at 23-23. Fighting Irish didn’t waste time finding a scoreboard freed by Killen Williams on the first drive of the game for a 65-yard touchdown. They had the chance to do two touchdowns, and when the false start penalty boosted them, the Irish were aiming for it in 4th and 1st from the inside of the 2-yard line. They settled on a field goal to make it 10-0.
Clemson reduced his advantage to 10-7 with his own touchdown, but Travis Etienne threw a toss in the backfield after the defense kept Ireland in another field goal. Jeremiah Ous Corramore of the University of Notre Dame was very happy because he couldn’t pull it out of the air and make it 20-10 Ireland due to a touchdown. The Tigers turned the ball over with the next possession, and Ous Coromore stole the ball from Amari Rogers. However, Clemson’s defense pushed Notre Dame to another field goal.
And missing these opportunities, as Clemson lost a 10-point deficit in the third quarter, is currently plagued by Irish people. To make matters worse, the third quarter ended with Ian Book tinkering with the ball in the red zone. The Irish defense could then quickly force a three-out, and Ireland started fourth with a ball following Clemson’s punt.
