The project is implemented by 200 Westinghouse Poland employees and 10 Polish contractors.
Westinghouse signed memorandums with ten Polish companies in Gdansk and at its headquarters for the construction of six AP1000 nuclear reactors. The agreements concluded also provide for the possibility of building nuclear power plants in several countries of Central and Eastern Europe, informs Business Wire.
“Westinghouse has a great opportunity to help Poland achieve its energy goals through domestic investment in nuclear technology,” said Miroslav Kovalik, President of Westinghouse Poland. He added that about two hundred employees of his company work in Krakow and are ready to provide the Polish side with the best technologies that will help prevent climate change and meet the electricity needs of the Polish economy.
Westinghouse indicated that 10 Polish companies, both technological and architectural, will work on the construction, as well as manufacturers of steel structures, power generators and industrial cranes.
