Finally there is news about the great Dota 2 championship! The long-awaited T10, which failed last year, is finally on the mend. After the most important international tournament was initially supposed to take place in Sweden, there were also problems with this venue.

Contrary to previous communications and agreements, Valve did not obtain the special rights for the Dota 2 esports tournament that a traditional sports tournament would have received. The Swedish rejection of esports ruined the possibility of a possible event in the country. A few weeks before the originally planned start of the offline rounds, which should actually have started on August 5, 2021, a new venue had to be found, and that has now really worked.

To Romania!

As Valve announced in a current situation update, the International 10 – Dota 2 Championship with a new schedule will take place in Bucharest, Romania, in October. In this context, the group stage we just mentioned will, of course, no longer take place in August, but from October 7-10, 2021.

The main phase of Dota 2’s esports climax will begin on October 12. On October 17, the event will lead to the grand finale, in which the world’s top two Dota 2 teams for the world championship title and their share of the gigantic $ 40 million prize pool.

Dota 2 the International: prize money increases by unimaginable dimensions

The people in charge of Valve would like to thank the city and country in advance for allowing the Dota 2 community to come together again not only virtually, but also in person. The International 10 aims to celebrate both the best players and the fantastic fan base.

More information on ticket sales will be shared shortly.
