DxOMark recently changed its test protocol and is currently running a fourth version of this protocol. This means that some of the devices considered relevant will pass the new test round, as the overall score will also change. It can have a significant impact, not to mention improvements in the software that manufacturers deploy over time.
Anyway, the iPhone 11 has recently been retested, with an overall score jumping significantly from 109 to 119 points, surpassing its 2020 flagship products such as the Samsung Samsung Galaxy S20 + and OnePlus 8 Pro in the DxOMark rankings. However, the Galaxy S20 + has been tested with older protocols.
The bottom line is that the iPhone 11 is still a capable shooter a year later, offering excellent photo and video quality and little hope. Stills offer accurate exposure, excellent color reproduction, excellent indoor detail, and ultra-wide camera performance that you can hardly boast about. However, DxOMark was not very happy with the zoom quality. This is understandable given the lack of a telephoto lens. Night-sounding artifacts and overexposed flash portraits prevent DxOMark from giving the iPhone 11 a high score.
When it comes to video quality, DxOMark shares the same benefits with effective stabilization. However, recording while walking has a visible jelly effect, and white balance and exposure measurements are lost in indoor scenes.
