In the 90’s, the complete notion of Capcom and SNK working together was as unlikely as Sega and Nintendo would put their weapons on and make friends (maybe ?!). So when these two fighting game greats announced a series of crossover games at the end of the decade, it caused a lot of turmoil.

We got Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 Dreamcast together SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Crash Neo Geo Pocket Color. In addition to it, SNK vs. Capcom: Millennium Match With SNK’s Handheld – arguably one of the best portable one-on-one fighters ever made. This collaboration is also for us Capcom vs. SNK 2 With Dreamcast (later ported to PS2, GameCube, Xbox) SNK vs. Capcom Choice Not only Neo Geo, but quite disappointing SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters DS After a while.

As the name of this sub-series suggests, each game boasted its own franchise character owned by these two Japanese giants. So the Street Fighter cast clashed with the King of Fighters star-that kind of thing. The Millennium match took things to the next level and included something like Arthur Makaimura In his own mini-game. Interestingly, the Neo Geo Pocket Color title can be connected to Dreamcast Capcom vs. SNK via a special link cable, allowing you to earn points and unlock your character on the move.

According to the Korean evaluation committee, SNK vs. Capcom: The Millennium match is heading for Switch. The game was recently rated for release in the region. This is a pretty sure sign that the game is inbound. This will probably be part of SNK’s current drive to release some of Switch’s most notable Neo Geo Pocket Color titles. We already had SNK Gals Fighters, Samurai Spirits II, Last blade: Beyond fate And First contact with Fatal Fury..

What is noteworthy about this new release is that it shows that SNK and Capcom are ready to work together again. As SNK develops and publishes this particular game, it contains Capcom’s IP, so we’ll assume you’ll need to sign a new contract to make this re-release.

Capcom vs released on the latest platform. Is it possible to see other titles in the SNK series? Or are the two companies working on a whole new crossover release?

Thanks to the Great song for the hint!
