Japanese indie game publisher PLAYISM unveiled a slate of new projects and updates during its latest PLAYISM Game Show, showcasing upcoming releases spanning horror, puzzle, roguelite and simulation genres as the company celebrates its 15th anniversary.
The Tokyo-based publisher, known internationally for titles such as Bright Memory: Infinite, The Exit 8 and Rusted Moss, revealed 11 announcements during the digital showcase while also launching a major publisher sale featuring discounts across its catalog.
PLAYISM Expands Its Indie Lineup With Multiple New Reveals
The event highlighted several upcoming games planned for release across PC and consoles between 2026 and 2027, reinforcing PLAYISM’s growing reputation as one of Japan’s leading independent game publishers.
Many of the newly announced projects reflect broader trends currently shaping the indie gaming market, including psychological horror, narrative-driven adventures and hybrid genre experimentation popular among PC players in the United States and globally.
Dungeon Sweeper Plus Debuts With Puzzle Adventure Gameplay
Among the world premieres was Dungeon Sweeper Plus, a cozy puzzle adventure developed by Setamo.
The game is scheduled to launch on PC via Steam in 2026 and appears to combine dungeon exploration with relaxed puzzle-solving mechanics, a style that has gained popularity alongside casual strategy and comfort-focused indie games.
Horror and Mystery Games Take Center Stage
Several horror-focused titles were also featured prominently during the showcase.
Midnight Train: New Moon, developed by LydiaBlueBell, continues the studio’s horror mystery franchise with a new episodic adventure planned for Steam in 2027.
Meanwhile, A Passing in the Night, developed by .iris, introduces a psychological horror experience set to arrive on PC in 2026.
Another standout was The Dream Of A Cockspur, a Lovecraft-inspired point-and-click survival horror game from developer roccay. The title is scheduled for release on Steam in the third quarter of 2026 and will support English, Japanese and Chinese language options.
The continued focus on atmospheric horror games reflects the sustained popularity of indie horror titles on platforms like Steam, Twitch and YouTube, where streamers frequently help smaller projects reach wider audiences.
Narrative Adventures and Experimental Concepts Announced
PLAYISM also revealed several story-driven and experimental indie games.
Text-Based Adventures Continue Gaining Momentum
There’s Something Wrong with the Hero’s Choices, developed by MinatoNezumi, was introduced as a bizarre text-based adventure coming to Steam in 2026.
Another narrative-focused title, No Case Should Remain Unsolved from developer Somi, combines detective storytelling with puzzle mechanics that involve reconstructing fragmented memories.
The mystery adventure is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 in the third quarter of 2026 and will include support for multiple languages, including English, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French and Brazilian Portuguese.
Text-heavy narrative games have carved out a growing niche in recent years, especially among players seeking slower-paced experiences focused on storytelling rather than competitive gameplay.
Sequels and Action Games Expand PLAYISM’s Catalog
Several sequels and action-oriented projects were also announced during the showcase.
Samurai Bringer Sequel Heads to Steam
SAMURAI BRINGER – RAMPAGE –, the follow-up to the roguelite action game Samurai Bringer, is scheduled to release on PC via Steam in 2026.
Developed by ALPHAWING Inc., the sequel promises large-scale battles against hordes of demons while expanding on the original game’s fast-paced combat systems.
Idol Manager Returns With Virtual Talent Focus
PLAYISM also revealed Idol Manager: Virtual Venture, a sequel to the music-industry simulation game Idol Manager developed by Glitch Pitch.
The game will shift its focus toward managing virtual entertainers and online personalities, reflecting the increasing influence of VTubers and digital creators within global pop culture and streaming communities.
The sequel is planned for release on PC in 2027.

- DevilConnection, an adventure game arriving on Nintendo Switch in 2026
