Samsung launches mobile-centric marketing campaign to unite athletes and fans ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics
Samsung, a global partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, is bringing new mobile innovations to Tokyo 2020 to help more consumers and fans experience the Olympic and Paralympic spirit anywhere in the world. This year will demonstrate how sport can bring us together even when we are not physically together, and in partnership with the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee, Samsung will lead this journey with its latest mobile technology and digital approach.
Samsung Focuses on Mobile Innovation with Galaxy S21 5G, Tokyo 2020 Athlete’s Phone
As the exclusive provider of wireless communications equipment for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Samsung will once again offer special edition mobile devices to all Olympic and Paralympic Games athletes participating in Tokyo 2020. Samsung first introduced its edition phone Olympic Games for the 1988 Olympic Games and has been providing it to all Olympic athletes since Sochi 2014. This initiative has been extended to Pyongyang 2018 Paralympic athletes and will continue in Tokyo 2020 and beyond as Samsung continues to participate in Olympic movements and Paralympic.
The Galaxy S21 5G Tokyo 2020 Athlete Phone features a professional-grade camera for users of all skill levels and the most advanced processor ever built into a Galaxy device for increased speed. These mobile devices are also energy efficient and offer advanced capabilities to support 5G connectivity and AI. To commemorate Tokyo 2020, the iconic design of the device will feature a blue shell and the respective Olympic rings and Paralympic shakers inscribed on the back.

Samsung will help bring the excitement of the Olympic and Paralympic Games to life through immersive experiences at Samsung Showcases (Galaxy Harajuku in Harajuku, Galaxy Athlete Lounge in Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Village). Galaxy Harajuku is uniquely designed to provide visitors with engaging experiences that embody Samsung’s heritage of groundbreaking mobile innovations and interactive activities. Visitors will be encouraged to create, capture and share their own Olympic and Paralympic experiences, expanding offline platforms to digital platforms to give fans around the world a glimpse of Tokyo 2020.
