How is it different from other strategy games?

Date:

The game launches August 17 on PC.

Humankind is a 4X strategy game where you build an Empire, from a tribe from the Neolithic to the modern era. In a genre long dominated by titles like Sid Meier’s Civilization, developer Amplitude Studios is looking to revamp the formula. This is how Humankind differs from other strategy games. Sponsored by SEGA.

Humankind is different from other strategy titles like Civilization. One of the main differences between these two games is the possibility of choosing a new culture in each era. Each culture is associated with one of the seven affinities: agrarian, militaristic, expansionist, merchant, scientific, builder, and esthete. Affinities that dictate the general playstyle of cultures.

Each culture offers a hereditary trait that rewards you for choosing it and keeping it after changing cultures. Players can also customize the appearance of the leader of their Empire. With 60 cultures to play in 6 eras, that’s over a million possible combinations to create your Empire.

Take part in advanced tactical battles, choose the politics of your Empire and earn Glory points for winning in Humankind. Developed by Amplitude Studios and published by SEGA, Humankind launches for PC this August 17.
