Allogloom Set for Oct. 13 Launch as Iceberg Interactive Expands Hand-Painted Indie Adventure Portfolio

Date:

Cozy mystery game from solo developer Kate (Galactic Ghosty) arrives on Steam ahead of Halloween season

TORONTO — Independent publisher Iceberg Interactive and solo developer Kate, who creates games under the Galactic Ghosty label, have announced that the hand-painted point-and-click adventure Allogloom will launch on Steam on Oct. 13, 2026, positioning the mystery title for release during the Halloween gaming season.

The narrative-driven adventure combines cozy exploration with psychological horror, inviting players to investigate the disappearance of an entire town while solving lore-based puzzles across multiple interconnected worlds. The announcement also opens review code requests for media and content creators ahead of launch.

The release further strengthens Iceberg Interactive’s portfolio of independent adventure games, building on the publisher’s success with titles such as Strange Horticulture.

Hand-Painted Adventure Blends Mystery and Whimsical Horror

Players explore Gruesome Grove across eight chapters

In Allogloom, players take on the role of Nora, who investigates the mysterious disappearance of the residents of Gruesome Grove, a town where unsettling secrets lie beneath a charming exterior.

The story unfolds across eight chapters, leading players through six interconnected worlds filled with hidden clues, unusual relics and mysterious inhabitants. Every environment, character and creature has been hand-painted by Kate, giving the game a distinctive artistic identity.

According to the developer, gameplay emphasizes observation and curiosity rather than trial-and-error puzzle solving. Players are encouraged to examine objects carefully, interact with strange characters and piece together the town’s forgotten history as they uncover the truth behind its missing residents.

The game’s atmosphere blends cozy storytelling with a growing sense of unease, creating an experience that balances character-driven exploration with supernatural mystery.

Steam Demo Generates Positive Early Reception

Players praise artwork, storytelling and world-building

Ahead of its October release, Iceberg Interactive has made a free Steam demo available, allowing players to experience the opening portion of the game.

Early feedback has highlighted the game’s visual design, immersive storytelling and unique blend of mystery and horror.

One Steam player wrote:

“The developer’s direction, world-building and storytelling is incredible even in this little demo. As someone who absolutely loved the game Fran Bow, I thought I’d never play a Point & Click that matches its unsettling, mysterious and whimsical feeling, this game surpasses that!” – Steam user review

Another reviewer praised the game’s originality:

“The alternate reality, its lore and art style felt very original. Just when it started to feel comfortable, the gore and the WTF moments set in… I’m hooked.” – Steam user review

A third player commented on the demo’s ability to keep players engaged:

“This game is beautiful 1236785481/10. I can’t wait to play it in full. NGL I kind of forgot I was playing a demo because I was so invested and now feel cliffhangered. I need it.” – Steam user review

Puzzle Design Focuses on Storytelling

Lore-driven gameplay rewards exploration

Unlike many traditional point-and-click adventures, Allogloom integrates its puzzles directly into the narrative and world-building.

Players will collect items, investigate mysterious relics, negotiate with unusual characters and uncover forgotten histories while progressing through the story.

The game’s key features include a fully hand-painted world, six explorable realms, an eight-chapter narrative, lore-driven puzzles, meaningful character interactions and a distinctive atmosphere that combines whimsical charm with creeping horror.

Iceberg Interactive says the design encourages careful observation and exploration, allowing players to uncover hidden details naturally as the mystery unfolds.

Iceberg Interactive Continues Investment in Indie Games

Publisher expands catalogue of narrative-driven titles

The launch reflects Iceberg Interactive’s continued investment in independent game development and narrative-focused experiences.

The publisher has built a reputation through games including Strange Horticulture, Killing Floor 2, Heroes of Valor, Circle Empires, Blazing Sails, Chivalry 2, Land of the Vikings, AirportSim, and Dead Season. It also has several upcoming projects in development, including Strange Antiquities, Second Sun, and Radiolight.

Meanwhile, Galactic Ghosty represents the solo development work of artist and game designer Kate, who taught herself illustration, writing, animation and game design while creating the world of Gruesome Grove, supported by a small group of collaborators throughout development.

With its combination of hand-crafted artwork, atmospheric storytelling and mystery-focused gameplay, Allogloom aims to attract fans of narrative adventure games when it launches globally on Steam on Oct. 13, 2026, just ahead of the Halloween season.
