Beloved Indie Series Returns With New Characters, Expanded Gameplay, and a Neon-Lit Tokyo Setting
TOKYO — The next chapter in the popular Coffee Talk franchise officially launched worldwide Thursday, giving players a fresh opportunity to step behind the café counter in a new standalone adventure set in modern Tokyo.
Developed and published by Chorus Worldwide, Coffee Talk Tokyo is now available on PC via Steam, as well as on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
The new title builds on the relaxing, narrative-driven gameplay that helped the original Coffee Talk series gain a loyal international following among fans of indie storytelling games and cozy simulation experiences.
A New Tokyo Setting Expands the Coffee Talk Universe
Set amid Tokyo’s late-night cafés, glowing neon streets, and rainy alleyways, Coffee Talk Tokyo introduces players to a completely new cast of characters while maintaining the emotional tone that defined earlier entries in the series.
Players once again take on the role of a barista serving drinks and listening to the personal struggles of customers. The game blends visual novel storytelling with drink-making mechanics, allowing conversations and choices to shape character relationships and story outcomes.
This installment features humans alongside supernatural beings inspired by Japanese folklore and mythology, including yokai characters woven into the game’s urban fantasy atmosphere.
Across 15 story-driven nights, players can interact with 11 new characters, uncover hidden storylines, and explore multiple endings depending on the choices they make throughout the game.
New Gameplay Features Add More Player Interaction
Expanded Drink Crafting and Latte Art
One of the largest gameplay additions in Coffee Talk Tokyo is the expansion of the café brewing system.
Players can now prepare both hot and iced beverages while experimenting with more advanced latte art customization tools. New stencil-based design options allow players to personalize drinks with decorative patterns and visual flourishes.
The game also introduces an upgraded in-game social system called “Tomodachill,” which expands how players gather information and unlock conversations. By paying attention to hashtags, timing, and character interactions, players can discover additional dialogue paths and hidden relationship developments.
Relaxing Soundtrack Returns
Returning composer Andrew “AJ” Jeremy provides a new lo-fi soundtrack inspired by Tokyo summer nights, continuing the mellow musical style that became a defining feature of earlier Coffee Talk titles.
The soundtrack aims to recreate the calming late-night café atmosphere that has resonated strongly with players looking for slower-paced, emotionally driven gaming experiences.

Indie Narrative Games Continue Growing in Popularity
The release of Coffee Talk Tokyo comes as narrative-focused indie games continue gaining traction in North America and globally, particularly among players seeking slower-paced alternatives to competitive multiplayer titles and large-scale action games.
The original Coffee Talk series, created by Indonesian studio Toge Productions, earned praise for its inclusive storytelling, relaxing atmosphere, and emotionally grounded character interactions. The franchise has become especially popular among fans of visual novels and cozy gaming communities across the United States, Canada, and Europe.
With its Tokyo-inspired setting and expanded gameplay systems, Coffee Talk Tokyo aims to build on that success while introducing new players to the series.
