Free expansion for eligible players adds contraband detection, new jobs, and gameplay features across PC and consoles
Saber Interactive has released “Contraband,” the second major downloadable content (DLC) expansion for Docked, introducing a new investigation-focused storyline, additional jobs, a new drivable vehicle, and gameplay mechanics centered on inspecting cargo. The DLC is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The expansion is free for players who own the New Horizons expansion pack or the Deluxe Edition of the game.
New Storyline Puts Players in Charge of Port Security
Illegal cargo investigation threatens Port Wake’s reputation
The new DLC shifts gameplay toward port inspections after a suspicious shipping container jeopardizes Port Wake’s effort to achieve International Port status.
Players take on the role of a port inspector, using a new X-ray scanning tool to examine incoming cargo, identify illegal goods, and report contraband to authorities.
The expansion includes one new story mission and 12 additional jobs, requiring players to move pallets, inspect shipments, and uncover suspicious activity while helping restore the harbor’s reputation.
The investigation introduces a fresh objective to Docked’s port management gameplay by combining logistics with cargo security.
Forklift Joins the Vehicle Lineup
Compact machine expands cargo-handling options
One of the DLC’s biggest gameplay additions is a forklift, giving players a faster and more agile way to transport pallets for inspection.
Unlike many of the larger machines already available in Docked, the forklift is designed for quick maneuvering in tighter spaces while handling urgent cargo operations.
The vehicle can also operate alongside existing heavy equipment, including the:
- Straddle Carrier
- Reach Stacker
- MHC Crane
- RTG Crane
- STS Crane
- RMG Crane
The addition expands the game’s logistics systems while giving players more flexibility in managing port operations.
DLC Included with Select Editions
New Horizons expansion owners receive Contraband at no additional cost
The Contraband DLC is included for players who own either the Docked Deluxe Edition or the New Horizons expansion pack, which also contains the previously released Deep Waters DLC.
For new players, Saber Interactive also confirmed that a physical Deluxe Edition of Docked will arrive in retail stores for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X on Oct. 22.
The physical release will bundle the base game with additional downloadable content, offering a complete package for console players.
Docked Continues to Expand Through Post-Launch Updates
Second major DLC builds on the port simulation experience
Docked focuses on operating and managing a busy commercial harbor through cargo handling, heavy machinery, and logistics operations. The Contraband expansion builds on that foundation by introducing investigative gameplay that requires players to inspect shipments rather than simply move them.
The combination of new missions, additional jobs, specialized equipment, and cargo-scanning mechanics adds another layer to the port simulation while expanding the variety of tasks available throughout Port Wake.
With the launch of Contraband, Saber Interactive continues to broaden Docked’s gameplay through post-launch content, giving returning players new objectives while preparing for the game’s upcoming physical Deluxe Edition release later this year.
