Pixel Arcadia Secures Major Retro Gaming Sponsors Ahead of Debut Showcase

Date:

GOG, Clear River Games, and other industry partners back new event celebrating classic and retro-inspired games

A new event dedicated to retro gaming has secured support from several well-known companies and organizations ahead of its inaugural showcase. Pixel Helix announced that Pixel Arcadia, its upcoming digital event focused on classic and retro-inspired games, has attracted sponsorship from prominent names in the gaming industry as it prepares for its first broadcast on Aug. 24, 2026.

The showcase aims to highlight retro game development, game preservation, and independent creators while providing a dedicated platform for upcoming titles inspired by classic gaming.

Leading Retro Gaming Brands Join as Segment Sponsors

GOG and Clear River Games support preservation and classic game development

Pixel Arcadia’s inaugural event will feature backing from two major segment sponsors: GOG.com and Clear River Games.

GOG.com, the European digital game marketplace known for its DRM-free approach, has built a reputation for preserving classic titles through its GOG Preservation Program, which focuses on keeping older games accessible and playable on modern hardware.

Clear River Games, meanwhile, has earned recognition for publishing physical editions of retro-inspired games and reviving classic titles for modern audiences. Its involvement reflects the company’s continued support for preserving gaming history while expanding access to vintage-inspired experiences.

According to Pixel Helix, these partnerships provide production and editorial support that will help deliver the event while giving independent developers and publishers greater visibility.

Additional Feature Sponsors Expand Industry Support

Gaming media and independent studios join the showcase

Beyond the headline sponsors, Pixel Arcadia has also announced several feature sponsors contributing to the event’s production.

Those include RetroGamer, a publication dedicated to the history of classic video games; independent game studio Beyond the Pixels; and OldSchoolGamer.com, along with other industry partners supporting the showcase.

The organizers said these collaborations will help create a presentation focused entirely on retro gaming and its growing community of developers and fans.

Pixel Helix CEO Highlights Industry Response

Organizer says retro games deserve a dedicated platform

“The response from sponsors has been truly humbling,” said Al Hibberd, CEO of Pixel Helix. “It’s clear that the industry is ready for an event that doesn’t just treat retro as an afterthought. With the support of GOG, Clear River Games, and our broader feature sponsors, we are able to produce a showcase that gives developers the platform they need and audiences the retro content they love.”

The statement reflects growing interest in retro gaming, a segment that has continued to attract players through remastered classics, preservation initiatives, and new titles inspired by older console generations.

Pixel Arcadia Showcase Set for August Debut

Event will feature upcoming retro-inspired releases

Submissions for the first Pixel Arcadia showcase closed at the end of June. Organizers say viewers can expect a 90-minute presentation highlighting retro-inspired games scheduled for release in 2026 and beyond, including announcements and exclusive reveals from participating developers.

The event is scheduled to stream on Aug. 24, 2026, at 2 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) and 11 a.m. Pacific Time (PT), making it accessible to audiences across the United States as well as international viewers.

Fans, developers, and members of the gaming media are encouraged to follow Pixel Arcadia’s social media channels for updates on participating studios and additional announcements ahead of the broadcast.

Retro Gaming Continues to Gain Momentum

As interest in classic games and preservation continues to grow, Pixel Arcadia is positioning itself as a dedicated event for developers, publishers, and players who appreciate retro gaming. With support from established industry partners and a showcase focused entirely on classic-inspired experiences, the inaugural event aims to provide a new stage for upcoming retro titles and the creators behind them.
